From time to time Pouteria hosts events — from shorebird monitoring sessions on the shell spit to foreshore clean-ups along Te Matuku Bay coastline. Each one is a chance to get out into one of Waiheke's most special places, contribute something meaningful, and meet like-minded people.

📅

Periodic events

Some events happen on a regular timetable — shorebird monitoring counts in summer, pest plant blitzes through the season, baiting rounds three times a year. These are planned in advance and we aim to give plenty of notice.

Ad hoc events

Others come up as opportunities arise — a track clearance after a storm, a foreshore clean-up when conditions are right, or a one-off task that needs a few pairs of hands. These are announced as they happen.

Most events run for a morning or an afternoon. They are social as well as practical — you'll go home having done something worthwhile and probably having enjoyed yourself too.
